How to Order

By buying New Society books, you help support us as well as our authors, and we are grateful, however you purchase them - through your local independent bookseller, the big box stores, Amazon or some other online bookseller, or directly from us through our website or toll-free phone number. When you buy directly from us, however, there are added benefits:

First, we have the pleasure of connecting with you, our readers.
Second, New Society authors make more money when you buy direct from us because of the way we pay royalties.
New Society makes more money, too!
The environment benefits by not having to truck books around using fossil fuel - from the fulfillment house to the bookstore to you. It saves at least one, if not two, trips when you buy direct.

If you can't buy directly, though, please try to support your local independent bookstores whenever possible: they need your support, too.

For Bookstores, New Society Publishers is distributed to the book trade by Consortium Book Sales & Distribution in the U.S. and by New Society Publishers in Canada.

Order Online

You can start the on-line purchase process on any book page by clicking the

button next to any book. If this is the first time you've entered our store, you will be asked to select the your Bill To: country (Canada or US). We regret that we can no longer ship online orders overseas due to prohibitive shipping charges.

Your shopping basket will be displayed showing the selected book. If you wish, you can change the quantity and click "Update".

At this point you may continue to "Checkout" or "Continue Shopping". You can always get back to your shopping cart by clicking the

When you select "Submit Order", the Customer Login screen will appear, asking you to "Login" (if you already have an account) or "Create a New Account". By creating an account you will not have to re-enter your personal information the next time you shop. You may instead "Place Order Without Account".

When you proceed to the Checkout, you will be first asked for your Shipping and Billing Address.

Enter shipping and billing information and press "Continue". Select a shipping method that reflects the Ship To: address. Select credit card type (VISA or Mastercard). Press "Continue"

Fill in credit card information and press "Continue". The invoice page will display. You can print a copy of the invoice for your records. A confirmation e-mail will be sent to your Bill To: address.

Your credit card will not be charged until your books are shipped.

You may e-mail your order information to the address below. Please include the title of the book(s), your name, address, telephone number and Visa or Mastercard information. Applicable shipping charges and taxes (in Canada only) will be added to your statement.

Shipping

For USA and Canada: $5.00 for the first item, $1.00 for each additional item. Allow 7 to 10 business days. Orders to U.S. destinations are shipped via UPS. For other arrangements please call 1-800-567-6772 ext 111.

New Catalyst Books are special order and ship from a different location in the U.S. U.S. shipping is $5.00 for the first title and $1.00 for each additional New Catalyst title, calculated separately from regular New Society books.

Returns Policy

This Returns Policy applies to items ordered from our online store (http://www.newsociety.com).

If we made an error in shipping an item to you or if an item arrived in damaged or defective condition you may call our Toll Free number (1-800-567-6772 ext 111) and we will be happy to send a replacement at no cost to you. If requested by us, you must return the original item to us and we will refund you any shipping costs.

In all other cases, if you wish to return an item that was bought from our online store you must first call our Toll Free number (1-800-567-6772 ext 111) to arrange the return. We will only accept returns within 30 days of delivery to you. Only items bought with a credit card can be returned. Refunds will only be made for items that are returned to us undamaged, unmarked and in original condition. Once we have received the item from you we will refund the purchase price of the item, less any shipping costs, to your credit card.

Notes:

Please note that we can refund shipping costs only if the return is a result of our error.
The return procedure above applies only to those items purchased from New Society Publishers. It does not apply to books bought at another bookseller, online, or retail store.
Due to the digital nature of the product, we cannot accept eBook returns.
Please allow ten business days after receipt of a return for the refund to be appear on your credit card.
