Starhawk is the author or coauthor of eight books, including The Twelve Wild Swans: Journeys Into Magic, Healing and Action (HarperSanFrancisco, 2000); the Twentieth Anniversary Edition of The Spiral Dance (HarperSanFrancisco, 1999); Circle Round: Raising Children in the Goddess Tradition (Bantam, 1998); The Fifth Sacred Thing (Bantam Books 1993), which won the Lambda award for best Gay and Lesbian Science Fiction; and Truth or Dare: Encounters with Power, Authority and Mystery (Harper & Row, 1987), which won the Media Alliance Meritorious Achievement Award for nonfiction. Her works have been translated in German, Danish, Italian, Portuguese and Japanese. Well-known in the Wiccan and Pagan Community, Starhawk is a columnist on the web for beliefnet.com and for znet. She lives in San Francisco.
