Mark Anielski Counsels Victims of Madoff Scam

Mark Anielski, author of the award-winning The Economics of Happiness, has been meeting with victims of Bernard Madoff, who has been convicted of one of the largest investment frauds in history. According to The Tyee, Mark recently met with members of an advocacy group made up of Madoff investors to "talk about how [they] can move past the emergency, [to] restructuring and rethinking wealth."

Renee Bunnell-Schwartz spearheads the advocacy group of Madoff victims. They believe that the collapse of the Madoff ponzi scheme is a signal that the speculative investment economy is collapsing, and that Anielski's model of Genuine Wealth is poised to take its place.

"It's about putting value on different things," she says. "Inserting value in things like relationships, appreciation of beauty and curiosity and not just trying to get a return on your financial investment."

Here's a short interview about Genuine Wealth with Mark Anielski from the great folks at How to Boil a Frog:

In The Economics of Happiness, Mark Anielski presents practical solutions for building economies of well-being based on genuine wealth. This timely book is about making the economy serve the interests of the people, instead of people serving the economy. Check it out!
