The Best Years second season will be premiering on Global TV April 21st at 10:00 pm. This entertaining, sexy, high-stakes drama will feature books from New Society authors in several episodes. Correctly identify the book and author in an e-mail to EJ at newsociety dot com and you will be entered in a draw to win a free copy.

The Best Years series originated with The N, the nighttime network for teens. It wasn't long before Global TV picked up the series in Canada.

Aaron Martin, creator of Season One says, "The Best Years is about the time in a young person's life when they are making the transition from teenager to adulthood. A time when every decision they make will determine the type of adult they will eventually become - a time of reinvention. I like this age range in story telling because the characters can make huge mistakes and yet remain sympathetic." Clips of the show can be seen on their website, The Best Years.

Season Two has been co-produced by Jon Cooksey, known better here at New Society Publishers for his excellent website, How to Boil a Frog. He has added a new layer to the second season - a layer which includes screen shots and discussion of several prominent environmental books. Jon Cooksey explains, "Rich is a charming Junior with relationship issues who wants to save the planet. I made him a sustainability major doing an independent study with a humorously gloomy Russian advisor (who tends to use the global issues as relationship metaphors so Rich will connect to them emotionally) so I could take them into a wide range of issues."

Once again, Jon Cooksey has used his creative quirky genius to make environmental issues accessible to a mainstream audience. Congratulations to Jon and all the crew at The Best Years. And they have great music too! Let us know what you think of the show.
