Congratulations to Eric S! You have won a copy of  The Permaculture Handbook in our Win a #BookaDay for the Month contest.

Today, May 31st, is the last day of our "A Book a Day for the Month of May" Giveaway in support of Occupy. Today’s winner will get to choose a book of their choice from New Society Publishers.

To enter all you have to do is retweet our contest tweet @NewSocietyPub or share this post on the social media of your choice using the SHARE THIS widget that appears above and below this post. Then, leave a comment on this blog entry to let us know you have done so. (If you don’t we won’t know you have shared!) We will randomly select a winner from each day's entries.

We’d like to thank everyone who has participated this past month, and we hope you’ll all continue to stop by and offer your support and feedback, and join in the effort to create a place of support, tools and information for all of us working to make a difference in this crazy world we call home.

We would like to open up today’s blog for you to share with us issues that are close to your heart. Leave a link to your favorite blog or website or information about a cause you want to bring attention to, and let’s get the conversation started.

We want to learn from you as much as we hope you learn from the resources we offer and together move forward towards creating an economically and environmentally fair and just society.

Truth is by nature self-evident. As soon as you remove the cobwebs of ignorance that surround it, it shines clear.
 Mahatma Gandhi

Nothing in the world is more dangerous than sincere ignorance and conscientious stupidity.
 Martin Luther King, Jr.

Charlie Chaplin's final speech in The Great Dictator has been making the rounds a lot lately and we thought it was a fitting salute to all the Occupiers, activists, NGOs who put their blood, sweat, tears and hearts (and sometime bodies) on the line in an effort to make a livable and just world for all.
