In keeping with our activist roots, our office is closed today in support of the Idle No More and Common Cause Worldwide Day of Action.  New Society Publishers stands in solidarity with the movement’s goal to urge the government of Canada to repeal all legislation which violates First Nations treaties and indigenous sovereignty rights, and removes environmental protections, leaving land, water and forests endangered and terribly vulnerable to exploitation.

On Monday, January 28th our federal parliament resumes sitting and outside parliament and in cities across Canada Common Causes , a new
national peoples' network uniting communities, labour, environmental, social justice and Idle No More will be standing up for Canadian democracy and for a better future for all. This is just the beginning!

New Society Publishers have decided to close our offices while we attend the protest.

Coordinated action is needed against the agenda that is changing our society in a broad range of critical areas such as the economy, the environment, Indigenous rights, labour rights, health care, food safety, education, social programs, culture, civil liberties, peace and poverty, and not for the good!

Please follow us on Facebook and Twitter as we report throughout the day.
