The Mother Earth News Fair at Seven Springs Resort in Pennsylvania is now upon us!

MOTHER EARTH NEWS magazine “has been helping folks live self-reliant, sustainable, meaningful lives for more than 40 years. With an audience of more than 3 million readers worldwide, it is the largest and longest-running environmental lifestyle magazine on the planet.”

The Mother Earth News Fair, brings the magazine to life. For three days -- from September 20-22 -- attendees will enjoy a full schedule of workshops, exhibits and demonstrations, including a chicken slaughtering demo from experts Daniel Salatin of Polyface Farms and David Schafer of Featherman Equipment; Ed Begley, Jr., whose message on sustainable living is empowering and humorous; and New Society’s own Dan Chiras discussing the new renewable energy economy.

New Society Publishers is proud to be a partner in the Fair, and we’re excited to be hosting a dozen of our authors as they talk about everything from making fire with friction, raising goats naturally, foraging in the suburbs, growing local foodsheds with slow money, and so much more.

If you happen to be in the area, we would love to see you! We are at booth #1103, where throughout the weekend there will be various demonstrations by our authors, such as how to make biodiesel, tanning hides naturally, stocking the home pantry¸ making electricity with biochar and using recycled barn rope for weaving baskets.

We also have our own stage at the fair, where after each presentation you can enter to win a copy of each speaker’s book!

If you can’t make it to the Fair this weekend, no worries -- we will be tweeting from @newsocietybpub and posting updates to Facebook about the event all weekend long!

Be sure to keep an eye out for a Mother Earth News Fair in your area -- Fairs are happening over the next several months in Lawrence, KS, Asheville, NC and Puyallup, WA. Check out the Mother Earth News Fair website for dates.
