In the Business of Change

Elisa Birnbaum, author of In the Business of Change: How Social Entrepreneurs are Disrupting Business as Usual, is celebrating her book's arrival with several events in Toronto, Ontario.

We are kicking it all off with a book signing at the New Society Publishers' book #308 at the Buy Good, Feel Good Expo opening party, Thursday May 10th at 6:30. Buy Good, Feel Good is dedicated to building a community of people and organizations who believe that business should have a positive impact on the world. They aspire to make ethical consumption the norm, inspiring all businesses to operate for the common good.

This is followed by a book launch at Another Story bookstore on Roncesvalles Ave, Toronto May 24th at 7:00 pm. 

On May 30, 7PM at Centre for Social Innovation, Annex, Toronto+Acumen and the Centre for Social Innovation will be hosting a Fireside Chat with Elisa.  More information is available from The Centre for Social Innovations' website.

Acumen is a global team of educators, innovators, entrepreneurs, catalysts, community managers and generous volunteers whose mission is to provide skills and community for social change. Elisa Birnbaum is the publisher and editor-in-chief of SEE Change Magazine, a digital publication of social entrepreneurship and social change. A journalist and television producer for over 15 years, she’s a regular contributor on social entrepreneurship for the National Post and has been published in a variety of publications including the Globe & Mail, Profit, and Lifestyles Magazine.

In the Business of Change she visits cities like Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, New York, New Orleans, Baltimore and Vancouver to meet social entrepreneurs who are taking steps to revitalize their communities.  Elisa says, "To provide a diversity of voices, I've included a range of social enterprises in this book, some that have been around for years, others that are newer to the sector. ...My focus in on sharing stories of these visionaries, innovators transforming lives and offering tips and inspiration for others."
