There is, perhaps, too much focus on the "apocalypse" in my house - not in a Howard-Camping-Armegeddon-is-May-21 sort of way, but rather in a things-are-pretty-messed-up-and-the-world-is-definitely-changing kind of way. So, it shouldn't have been much of a surprise to us, when my teenaged daughter recently published a post on her blog asking the question: if you could choose how the world was going to end, how would it happen?

I posed the question on my facebook page for some amusing results (one person hoped for a chocolate volcano happy. That my daughter (whose favorite movie is Zombieland with Woody Harrelson as an unlikely, twinkie-loving "hero"blunk opted for a literal zombie-apocalypse (the result of some brain-altering disease) is also no surprise.

Robert Frost mused:

"Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To say that for destruction ice
Is also great
And would suffice."

It's clear that the-world-as-we-know-it is changing dramatically. Between catastrophic natural disasters, increasingly more virulent strains of bacteria (the recently discovered form of e. coli in N. Germany, for instance), the economic depression, and resource depletion, we're in for a tough road ahead.

The question is, if you could pick that one thing that would take the lead and tip us over the edge into TEOTWAWKI, what would you choose and why?
